Mayor Bloomberg will kick off the festivities of Mulchfest that takes place in all five boroughs of NYC at Rockefeller Center. This is a series of wine history and appreciation classes. The class instructor will be sampling our cheeses along with the wine. NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo*January 10 & 11, 2009 Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon PI NW, Washington, DC. Annual Health and Fitness Expo. Over 200 businesses will be serving up activities and exhibits for everyone young, old and in-between. There will be lots of free givaways, health tests and screenings, special guests, cooking demos, chances to win prizes, exercise classes and more. This fundraiser for the San Antonio Museum of Art features a reception prior to the concert and desserts and a silent auction after the performance. Kids in the Kitchen*January 13 & 15, 2009 Zaban Park, 5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody, GA. Unleash your child's culinary curiosity! Each week your child will prepare a new recipe and learn the basics of the kitchen, including manners! The final day of class, parents and friends are invited to cook along side their favorite chef. For boys and girls aged 3-5. Classes are offered Tuesdays and Thurdays at 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. and run for 8 weeks. South Florida Fair*January 17-19, 2009 South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Blvd, W. Palm Beach, FL. A 17 day agricultural, entertainment, midway, food and arts and crafts event drawing 600,000 people. The fair was established in 1912 and is one of the top 35 fairs in the US. It features a purpore built exhibition area. Farm Expo*January 23-25, 2009 Meadowview Convention Center, 1901 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport, TN. This is one of the largest annual family expos in the TriCities area. Exhibits of farm equipment is a given, but it also includes a Ladies Market, Kids Playground and special 4-H section and is attended by many people who are not farm families. This dinner and auction to benefit the American Red Cross features wild game entrees and a silent auction. This annual fundraiser for CFF-Greater Chicago Chapter features some of Chicago's most prominent chefs and restaurateurs preparing their dishes for an upscale downtown Chicago audience.
